Mission
Create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.
Key Services Provided
Community-Based: One-to-one mentoring that builds meaningful, lasting relationships through shared experiences.
School-Based: Consistent one-to-one mentoring at the Little’s school.
Workplace: Connects students with business professionals for mentoring, career exploration and real-world experiences.
Future Pathways: Equips young adults with mentoring, life skills and guidance to pursue education, employment, entrepreneurship or enlistment.

BBBSIA serves youths and young adults across Polk, Dallas and Warren counties, connecting them with consistent, caring mentors who help build confidence, strengthen life skills, explore possibilities and achieve their full potential. Our programs create meaningful mentoring opportunities from childhood through the transition into adulthood.

What are the most immediate needs to support your organization?
Our greatest immediate need is more mentors, especially Big Brothers — for the hundreds of Central Iowa youths waiting for a Big. Financial support is equally critical, helping BBBSIA recruit, screen, train and professionally support every Big, Little and family throughout their mentoring relationship.
We also need businesses and community partners willing to open doors through Workplace Mentoring, career exploration and pathway-building experiences. Whether someone gives their time, talent or financial support, every investment helps us create more consistent relationships and expand access to the opportunities young people need to thrive.
